Another Light

(This was typed a couple of weeks ago and just now posted. Sorry for the delay!)

Let us rejoice in the Creator for His work in this place. This past week, Lynne and I were blessed with the opportunity to meet another believer in our village. Her name is May Gao. She has been a believer for thirty years. She is the only believer in the village besides a young girl age thirteen who is new to the family. It was incredibly refreshing getting to meet her. We decided we want to spend time with her during our last two weeks in the village and when we come back for visits. A seeming hindrance would be her lack of English and our very limited Thai. Nonetheless, her joy in Him speaks beyond words. So far we have really only expressed our desire to see her often, shown her our family pictures, and looked at her Thai Bibles (all marked up and worn- beautiful). On Wednesday, one of our friends and translator and leader will come to our house and we will go see May Gao and actually have a real conversation hopefully. I can hardly express the gratefulness to the Creator for saving this woman. Sometimes I just wish we could understand more deeply the greatness of His salvation. It’s amazing. He has come to a nearly unreached people and shown His glory in a way that May Gao and the young girl would see, understand, and accept. Now they have a relationship with the Creator of universe- something that seems so mundane in a world of Churchianity and blasphemous or religious culture. Believer, rejoice with me in His work here and how He has brought May Gao and our young friend to Himself. Death no longer has victory over them. Death no longer carries a sting for them. Thanks be to Him, who gives us the victory through our Savior, Jesus (1 Corinthians 15:55-57). He has shown them the truth so they could know the truth and be set free (John 8:32).

Almighty Creator, please continue Your revolution against darkness in the place. Please bring more people to Yourself. Let there be light, Father.
